Switchfloat is a drill string float valve system that is able to be locked open to allow well intervention activities without tripping pipe to remove float valves. In stuck pipe scenarios Switchfloat valves enable the operator to utilise wireline conveyed pipe recovery tools to recover all drill string components and drilled hole above stuck point. The system provides significant rig time savings during wireline conveyed directional surveys.
